CHOCOLATE PEPPERMINT COOKIES

2 c. sugar
3/4 c. cocoa
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. Crisco
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. sour milk or buttermilk
1 c. water
2 eggs
2 tbsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
4 c. flour

Mix everything except flour for 1 or 2 minutes. Add flour by hand. Drop on greased cookie sheet, about 2 inches apart and bake 7-9 minutes at 400 degrees. Let cool and frost.

FROSTING:

4 c. powdered sugar
1 c. butter
2 tbsp. milk
2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. peppermint extract
1 1/2 c. crushed peppermint candy

Mix together and spread on cookies.
